Strategic Alliances

To meet the ongoing challenge of maintaining our position as a leader in the IT community, Iglutek Computers has formed strategic relationships with some of the most recognized names in the industry, including Unisys, Bell Aliant and Elco Systems.

Together, we bring best-of-breed solutions to our customers. The best-of- breed approach uses easy to integrate solutions where the product strengths are aligned with the needs and requirements of the customer.

At Iglutek Computers we focus on our skills and technical knowledge and the strength of the relationships, we the aboriginal owners, have formed with companies desiring to promote the economic development of Labrador.

Iglutek Computers Inc. was created in 2006 by Peter Penashue and Robert Engram in order to facilitate the purchase of an existing company, Northland Computers Inc. and it's associated companies.

Northland Computers had been serving the customers of Happy Valley-Goose Bay since 1992 with an established customer base and product line. The formation of Iglutek Computers saw the merging of Northland Computers Inc. and two aboriginal companies, namely, Iglutek Limited Partnership and Iglutek Information Technology System Inc.. Limited Partnership, an Innu company, was formed in 2004 and operated a retail outlet for the purpose of reselling Aliant products and services. Iglutek Information Technology System Inc., an Inuit company, was formed in 2002 in order to bid on opportunities with Voisey's Bay Nickel Company (VBNC).

Through this new company we have pursued an aggressive growth strategy, forging strategic alliances and emphasizing our 100% aboriginal ownership, which is key in an economic region dominated by local aboriginal interests and strategies.

The impetus for the formation of this company resulted from the desire to provide information technology and telecommunications solutions to companies and organizations desiring aboriginal community participation where such participation is of strategic importance to potential clients.

A portion of our long-term strategy includes growth through the pursuit of projects in which to participate, and the development of strategic alliances with firms and organizations to carry out such projects. We believe that we are well positioned, in terms of quality and quantity of products offered, and possessing the technical ability to be an attractive candidate to companies and organizations wishing to pursue such relationships.

Through participation in projects involving information technology and telecommunications, we can partner with our clients and others to provide learning and work opportunities for the aboriginal population of Labrador. We are committed therefore to providing high quality products and innovative solutions and to delivering effective results to our clients.

For companies and organizations with a stated objective to collaborate with both the Innu and Inuit of Labrador, Iglutek can offer an opportunity to achieve this objective.
